F A M I L Y

I ran into a stranger
as he passed by, "

Oh excuse me
please" was my reply.

He said, "Please
excuse me too; I wasn’t watching for you."

We were very polite,
this stranger and I.

We went on our way
and we said goodbye.

But at home a
different story is told,

How we treat our
loved ones, young and old.

Later that day,
cooking the evening meal,

My son stood beside
me very still.

When I turned, I
nearly knocked him down.

"Move out of the
way," I said with a frown.

He walked away, his
little heart broken.

I didn’t realize how
harshly I’d spoken.

While I lay awake in
bed,

God’s still small
voice came to me and said,

"While dealing
with a stranger, common courtesy you use,

but the family you
love, you seem to abuse.

Go and look on the
kitchen floor,

You’ll find some
flowers there by the door.

Those are the flowers
he brought for you.

He picked them
himself: pink, yellow and blue.

He stood very quietly
not to spoil the surprise;

you never saw the
tears that filled his little eyes."

By this time, I felt
very small,

And now my tears
began to fall.

I quietly went and
knelt by his bed;

"Wake up, little
one, wake up," I said.

"Are these the
flowers you picked for me?"

He smiled, "I
found ‘em, out by the tree.

I picked ‘em because
they’re pretty like you.

I knew you’d like
‘em, especially the blue."

I said, "Son,
I’m very sorry for the way I acted today;

I shouldn’t have
yelled at you that way."

He said, "Oh,
Mom, that’s okay. I love you anyway."

I said, "Son, I
love you too, and I do like the flowers, especially the blue."

FAMILY

Are you aware that if
we died tomorrow,

the company that we
are working for

could easily replace
us in a matter of days.

But the family we
left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.

And come to think of
it, we pour ourselves more into work

than into our own
family, an unwise investment indeed, don’t you think?

So what is behind the
story?

Do you know what the
word FAMILY means?

FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU

Misery

By:
J. Sison

Looking
of what I have become is so miserable.

Things
have changed so quickly in a time so ample.

Life
has its ups and downs

The
wind blew from east to west

Or
from south to north;

Where
is my life heading?

I
may have earned a lot of experiences

But
still I consider myself a loser.

I do
not know where to put myself

I do
not know where my path is going.

I
have been thinking of answers

That
can tell me on what I wanted to do.

I
have been always grasping in the dark,

Without
a tiny spark that will lead me to the light.

Why
do things have to come this way?

Why
would I have to act such a way,

That
could ruin anybody’s day?

Why?
Would someone come to me

And
answer those questions?

Maybe
your existence

Has
something to do with these uncertainties

Or
perhaps you are just filling your fantasies.

At
any rate, I am happy that you came

Stay
with me forever and together we will journey

Towards
the so-called ETERNITY.

Forsaken Love

By:
J. Sison

Distance came in our life

And made us surrender;

The flag is flung telling you

That the war is over;

The scent of the zephyr fades away

As the summers day comes its way.

Just like how life could have been

Without you, everything may have not seen.

Time healed the wounds that are hidden under

This question of mine that keeps me wonder

Why should I need to bother?

As the memories made its way to the sky

And I will just have to swallow the pain and let it die.

Ode to My Love

By:
J. Sison

Days
passed so fast;

Time
seems not to always last

Mountains
afar are so high

But
with you beside me,

I
can go even towards the sky.

Seasons
come and seasons go

People
come and people go

Without
asking me to,

My
love for you will now surely go.

I
may close my eyes when I sleep at night

I
assure you, with you by my side

I
can sleep so tight.

And
by fate’s might,

We
will find the light

Together
our future will be bright.

The
Tale of an Unknown Knight of Arthur

(Episode I)

By: Julius A. Sison

It was cold Sunday
afternoon when a brisk movement behind the walls of the two buildings standing in
front of him suddenly shocked him down. He can see debris falling from him left
and right. You can loudly hear screeching of metals and windows glasses breaking
from the towers. It was because of the earthquake that shaken the entire city.

When he
realized that the quake will get even stronger he ran quickly for shelter. He
went under a car thinking that it will help him from any trouble that might catch
him. He waited for few seconds and it even reached few minutes staying under
the car.

Unexpectedly,
a part of a building fell off and hit the car where he was hiding. The debris wrecked
the car as it slowly shrunk it and almost killed him.

To be
continued…
